TOKOMAIRO FARMERS CLUB.
Tic annual meeting of members of th® Tokomairiro Farmers’ Club was held at Milton last week, and was attended by about *3O members. Mr J. W. Petrie (retiring president) occupied the chair. The President, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, referred to the reduction of the credit balance from £ll3 to £SB Bs. Various items in the receipts showed a decrease, but the chief decrease was in gate money at the summer show, duo to the wet weather experienced. There had also been heavy capital expenditure on improvements to the grounds. Taken altogether, the year’s operation® could be considered satisfactory despite th® largo decrease in the credit balance. The motion was seconded by Mr T. Ilitchon, and carried unanimously. The following office-bearers were elected: President, Mr K. Clark; vice-president, Mr W. W. P. Hall; treasurer, Mr W. W. P. Hall (re-elected); auditor, Mr J. J. Lane (re-elected); hon. veterinary surgeon, Mr J. Danskin, M.R.C.Y.S. The retiring members of committee were re-elected—viz.: Messrs J. B. Nome, T. Quill. J. Allison, inn.. VVm. Moore, Wm. Grey, R. H. Michelle, M. Finch, 0. Cowie. The meeting concluded with the usual votes of thanks to the committee and au who had assisted in carrying out the work* of the A meeting of the newly-elected committee was hold immediately afterwards, when the following business was transacted:—Mr Alex. Scott was re-clcctod secretary at the usual remuneration (£25). The Otago A,
and P. Society notified the dates of the Dunedin horse' parade and the summer show. A proposed scheme for affiliation with the Clydesdale Horse Society was held over for further consideration. It was resolved to call for tenders for the lease of the club’s show ground. The president, vice-president, and Messrs Quill, Grey, and Norrie were appointed as a Grounds Committee. The date of the horse parade was fixed for Tuesday. October 14, and the summer show for Tuesday, December 3.
