WAIMATE PLOUGHING MATCH.
The ninth annual match of the Waimato Ploughing Association was held last week in Sir A. J. Logan's paddock. The weather was bright throughout the day, and everything passed off satisfactorily. The office-bearers all worked hard, and great credit is due to their untiring efforts towards the success of the competition. The judges were: Ploughing. Messrs J. M’Connochic and D. Cooper; horses, Messrs U. Irving and P. Davidson ; jumping, Mr J. X. Freeman. The following are the results: Class A (open). —.7. C. Hay 1. A. Brown 2, A. Gibson 3; best fecring and best finish, J. C. Hay. Class B (open). —F. Moorin 1, G. Peck 2, J. 11. Luck 3; best feering and best finish, F. Mccrin. Class C (open). Four-horse teams.—P. Fitzhcrbert 1. II Voss 2; best leering and best finish. P. Fitzharris. Class D (open). Youths under 18 years; three or four-horse teams. —A. E. Peck 1. W. Mccrin 2, D. Brohan 3; best feering, W Meerin; best finish, A. E. Peek. Class E (open). Three furrow. —AV. Skevington 1, C. B. Hay 2, A. Shanks 3; best feering and best finish. W. Skevington. Special champion lot in field, J. C. Hay; best finish on ground. F. Meerin; in-and-outs. W. Wright; best three-horse team, best groomed team, and best harness. A. Brown, sen. ; best dressed team, best harness in everyday use, J. 11. Luck: best four-horse team. A. J.
