THE EAST COAST RAILWAY.

WELLINGTON, August 8. A deputation of Auckland members waited on the Prime Minister and the lion. W. Fraser (Minister of Works) today and urged the prosecution of the Waihi-Tauranga section of the East Coast railway. Mr Massey, in Ids reply, said the Public Works Estimates had not yet been considered by the Government, but he expressed the opinion that the WaihiTauranga section would get a fair share of available money. The Government had made up its mind to go in for a policy of development, and all lines of national importance, including the Waihi-Tauranga section, would be recognised.
