GOODWOOD CUP. LONDON, July 31. The following is the result of the GOODWOOD CUP, Of 740sova. Weight for age, with penalties. About two miles live furlongs. L. Brassey's b c Catmint, by Spearmint —Red Lily, 4yrs 1 Mr Fairia’e, b c Aleppo, by Beppo—Chore Reino, 4yis 2 Major Kustace Coder’s b g Lance Chest, by Spearmint—Chesnut Sunday, 4yrs 3 Prince Palatine finished in a distressed condition. In connection with the purchase of this horse, Mr J. B. Joel stipulated for a r duction to £40,000 in the event of his being beaten this season, while Mr Pilkington, the owner, stipulated that the horse would not be exported. Prince Palatine was regarded as a certain winner, and cai ried a lot of money, but he cracked up and made no show. He was very groggy when he was pulled up, and is reported to have hurt himself in the race. Catmint’s victory was due to Mahers clover riding.
