The area under wheat in the Oamaru district this Reason will l>e considerably lee« than that of last year (says the Mail), though what crops are already sown promise well, tiie rainfall to date, with tho exception of Otekaike and Duntroon districts, which have not had as much tain as was desired, being ample. The Hakataramoa Valley has received a good share of the rainfall and the crops are looking very v.-eli indeed, though a little rain is now needed.
