The annual meeting of the Dunedin Expansion League has been arranged for Tuesday, 19th August, at 8 p.in. The meeting will be hold in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Dunedin. Wo h ave to acknowledge receipt of Stones’ Otago and Southland A B C Guide and Monthly Diary for August, in which a vast amount of useful information concerning railway and coaching time-tables, distances, etc., is given. At the annual meeting of the Roslyn Presbyterian Church congregation the reports submitted stated that the communion roll now stands at 236. The average attendance at communion is 180. The various societies connected with the church were carried out successfully during the year. Ihe cost of tile pipe organ, which amounted to £640. Inal been paid, the choir contributing £350 by moans of bazaars, lectures, and concerts. It U estimated (says the Post) that the coastal steamers Man a and Haw-era, which for the past few weeks have been engaged in conveying frozen meat from Pa tea and Waitara to Onehunga. for transhipment to the Niagara at Auckland, have taken about 4000 quarters of beef, which is consigned to Vancouver.
