CHILD BURIED ALIVE

ADELAIDE, July 26. At an inquest on a child who was said to have been buried alive the jury found that death was caused through the father : of the girl, a man named Dart, burying it. It added a rider that Dart, in Ills excitement, overlooked the fact that the child was alive. Dart was committed on a charge of manslaughter. A daughter of John Henry Dart, a butcher, of Millbrook. gave birth to a child ; the week before last. The baby was buried alive in a paddock at the rear of the house, and a doctor called in to attend the girl. The doctor refused to give a certificate of death until he had seen the body of the child. When exhumed the child was still 1 alive, and was treated by the doctor, but I on the 17th. inst. it died. John Henry i Dart was charged with feloniously killing . the child. i
