CENTRAL OTAGO FRUITGROWERS' ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the Central Otago Fruit-growers’ Association, held lost week, was presided over by Mr S. Stevens, when about 25 members were present. The Chairman staled that action had been deferred in regard to the proposed Co-opera-tive Company until the Roxburgh growers had boon consulted. The Minister of Customs was interviewed in order to secure a remission on the duty on wrapping-paper. Seven now members were proposed, and as one of these was not a fruit-grower, a discussion followed as to his being admitted, eventually it wae decided to appoint a sub-committee to amend the regulations. Reference was made to the presence of fian Jose scale in Clyde and Alexandra, and also to the dilatoriiicsa of the department's officers in taking steps to stop this pest.
