Here adI dresses will lie given by Cabinet Ministers, pioneers. and others, and suitable selections sung by a 'united choir. At 1 p.m. the pioneers will be omertainod at iunclieon, and at 2 p.m. school and nrlitary .sports j will bo held in Gass square. At 8 p.m. a I concert to (he pioneers will be given, and j there will also bo an entertainment at the | Princess Theatre. j. January 9, the forenoon will ibe devoted to visits to tiu> townships of Kanieri, Ilium. Stafford, amt Wiiimoa. in the afternoon the pioneers will be entertained at a'garden party, and a swimming carnival w-11 be held, while the evening will he devoted to social functions. On Saturday. January 10, there will bo an excursion to Ross, where a locallyarranged program mo will bo carried out, and at night there will be a d : sp!ny of fireworks at Hokitika. On Sunday. January 11. special services will be held at all the churches. On Monday. January 12, a v : s!t will 5o paid to Kumara, where a locally-arranged programme will be carried nut.
