OTAGO CRICKET LEAGUE. Steps are being taken to form a league amongst Saturday clubs (various trades, etc.) not associated with the Cricket Association for the season 1913-14, and a meeting is to be held at an early date to consider the question. A circular has been prepared setting out the advantages to be gained from such a league, these being stated as follows; —(1) Combination is strength; (2) a set programme of matches for the season; (3) competitions for trophies, etc.; (4) protection of clubs by the league; (5) bettor playing-ground arrangements: (6) a better stylo of play and considerable more interest shown by the players and supporters.
