EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.

/The monthly meeting of the committee ot the Otago Early Association was held in the board room, Otago Early Settlers’ Hall, on Monday afternoon. Present: Messrs Donald Reid (in the chair), W. H. The following names of early settlors who hatl passed away wore recorded in the minutes: Mrs David Wood (Silistria), I 860; Mrs George Munro, 82. of Mu tiro’s Gully, arrived 1856; Mr Andrew Chapman, 73 (“Robert Henderson”). 1859; Mr Thomas Dagger (Grasmere), 1862; Mr Andrew Diddle, 56 (Gala), i 860; Mr Joshua George Wright, 88 (“Ocean Queen”). 1859; Mr Joseph Voting. 91, at Gabriel’s Gully, 1861; Mr David M'Conncchie. 81 (“Lightn'mr’ ) 1862; Mr John MTvechnie. 75 (Pladda). 1851; Mr P. M. Griffon, arrived 1860; Mrs Mary Brunton (Silistria). 1851 : Mr Antonio Joseph. 85 (“Favourite”), 1847; and Mr Michael Tynan. 81. arrived early 60’s. On Saturday afternoon the members ol the Lady Descendants’ Club paid a visit to the hospital patients at the Benevolent Institut'd!. and gave a concert. Mrs James Doy (president) was in charge of the party. 'I lm different wards wore visited in turn, each performer passing to the next ward and repeating the item or giving a substitute. The patients appreciated the visit very much, each bedridden inmate being spoken to by one or two of the party.
