RETURN OF EXPENDITURE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, July 18. A return was presented to the House of Representatives to-day, furnished on the motion of Mr H. M. Campbell, showing the cost of trips abroad of Ministers in the recent recess. The following was the information contained in the return ; Cost of each of the last three visits to England of the Rt. Hon. Sir J. G. W’ard : (a) Conference of Prime Minister's, 1907. —Grant to Prime Minister £1500; grant to private secretary, £550; —total, £2050. (b) Imperial Defence Conference, 1909. —Grant to Prime Minister, £800; grant to private secretary, £450; passage money to Svdncv for Mr F. G. Matthews, £l2; — total”, £1262. (c) Coronation of the King, 1911.—Grant to Prime Minister, £1500; grant to private secretaries (2), £459 10s; —total, £1959 10s. Cost of the visit to England of the Hon. Sir J. G. Findlay.—Grant to Sir J. G. Findlav, £800; grant to private secretary, £3Ol iOs;—total, £llOl 10s Cost of the visit to England of the Hon. J. Allen.— -Grant to Mr Allen, £1000; grant to private secretary, £1450; —total, £1450. . , Cost of the visit to South Africa of the Hon. G. Fowlds.—Grant to the Hon. Mr Fowlds, £450; grant to private secretary, £2OO ;—total, £650. Cost of the -visit to Australia of the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher to arrange a reciprocal tariff agreement. —Travelling allowance to Mr Fisher, £79 10s; travelling expenses of Mr Fisher, £67 15s; travelling allowance and expenses of private secretary, £lO7 15s; expenses of return luncheon to Federal Ministry, £32 15s 6d; — total, £287 15s 6d.
