Will tho export of turkeys become a Southland industry? (asks the Times). Sirs Turner, of St. Ronans, Dacre, has just executed an order to Sydney of 12 turkey gobblers. 'They wore all this season’s rearing, about seven months old, and averaged over 251 b each in weight. They were bred from imported stock, and were of the mammoth American bronze type. During tho past summer Mrs Turner lias reared over 80 birds, and contrary to the opinion of Southlanders generally that turkeys do not thrive there. Mrs Turner says that they can bo successfully farmed if taken care of untii they are about two months old.
