MACKINNON CUP. LONDON, July 17. The following is the result of the competition for the Mackinnon Cup ; Australia. 1533 Scotland 1504 England 1496^ Canada 1459 India 1409 Ireland 1375 At the 900yds range the scores were : England 776, Scotland 773, Australia 772, Canada 758, India 710, Ireland 709. July 18. Throughout the contest the wind frequently changed. The Australians’ notable victory was largely helped by their judgment in coping with the variable conditions. The whole team were admirably coached and shot splendidly. They ran away with the match at the 1000yds range. Blacklow finished with 11 consecutive bull’s eyes. The win was popular, and the team were warmly congratulated. The newspapers compliment the Australians on a popular victory—-and single out for especial praise Blacklow’s fine performance —in the Mackinnon Cup. It is considered that for a young team they shot with remarkable consistency under difficult circumstances. The team, are highly commended for their sportsmanship. The contest for the Mackinnon Challenge Oup (10 shots at 800, 900, and 1000 yards) last year resulted as follows; —England, 1583; Scotland, 1556; South Africa, 1554; Ireland, 1541; Canada, 1535; India, 1496; Guernsey, 1445. THE ELCHO SHIELD. LONDON, July 19. Scotland won the Elcho Shield at Bisley with a score of 1732, England 1727, Ireland 1667. THE SERVICE CUP. LONDON, July 19. The Service Cup was won by the Navy team with 726 points. The Royal Marines scored 695 points and the Army 687 points. Last year the E'icho Shield (15 shots at 900, 1000, and 1100 yards) was won by England with 1687 points, Scotland being second with 1634 points, and Ireland third with 1631 points. NEW CONDITIONS FOR KING’S PRIZE. LONDON, July 21. The competition for the King’s Prize in 1914 will be open to every branch of the service. The competitors will shoot with service rifles without extraneous sights. The

conditions, which are based on th© musketry tests, include rapid firing at disappearing targets.
