THE ROYAL TOUR
LONDON, July 15. King George, in a letter thanking Lord Derby for the arrangements made for his tour in Lancashire, said he hoped the visit would bring the Sovereigns nearer to the hearts of the people. They would ever regard the title the Duke of Lancaster, of which he was the proud bearer, as a symbol of real homely relation strengthening the bonds between the people and the Sovereign. Ho desired that when his health was hereafter drunk in Lancashire the toasts should be to the Duke of Lancaster.
