WELLINGTON FANCIERS' SHOW.
PRIZES AWARDED. WELLINGTON, June 12. The Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society opened its thirteenth annual exhibition to-day. A very good assortment of birds was penned. The entries included 250 poultry, 20 pigeons, arid 300 canaries, the last-named figure being a record. Canary fanciers from outside' districts are strongly represented. Of a very long list of special prizes and trophies the following awards were available this evening : The society's 10 guinea trophy in poultry classes, J. Irepionger won with a 'Silver Wyandotte cock; fanciers' cup (value £5 se) for most points in Silver Wyandottes, J. D. Iremonger; fanciers' cup (valu* £3 3s) for most pointe in Black Rose-comb Bantams, C. Brattle won outright; the Goer trophy for best Golden or Silver Hamburg shown, S. Curd Madely; shield for most points in moderri Game, F. Murphy; gold medal for best Bantam shown,.T. Wilkinson; magpie cup (value £6 6s) for best magpie pigeon, G. E. Hales; frill cup (value £6 6s), S. Otley; Foglia and Copp's trophy for best Oriental frill, J. Goer. Six North Island championships were competed for in certain groups of the canary sections, but the figures were not worked out to-night.
