DEATH OF MRS GISCOMB.

HUSBAND CHARGED WITH MAN SLAUGHTER.

CHRISTCHURCH, May 15

The inquest on the body of Mm Goscomb developed sensationally to-day, the woman's husband being charged ■with manslaughter. The evidence showed that Goscomb and hie wife were continually drinking and quarrelling, and on Sunday at midday the man hit his wife a severe blow on the chin. Tlie woman's body was subsequently found in an outhouse. The coroner returned a verdict that the woman died of heart failure, induced by n, blow inflicted by Frank Gc&comb. The latter was then formally charged with manslaughter, and remanded till May 23.
