Tho distance from the North Cape to Sydney by careful measurements on the- Admiralty chart of 1877 was 1050 miles; in the Now Zealand Pilot of 1887 it was set down at 1086 miles; and on the Pacific track chart of 1897 it was put down as 1093 milos. By the latest Admiralty chart (1907) the distance is stated as 1105 miles, thus showing an increase In the distance of 55 miles during 30 yieara. Working tho distance out by Mercator sailing, it is now. as it was 30 years ago, 1089.3 miles. Now, which chart is correct?"
