WORLD AGAINST JUTE TWINE.
A world-wide campaign will be made against jut* wool twine. The leading wool manufacturers and dealers in England, Australia, and Fiance have condemned jute wool twine. Samples of cloth affected by jute fibre will be sent to foreign woolgrowing countries so that the growers may see its bad effects. There is only one solution of this twine problem, and that is the universal adoption of paper twine. The manufacturers all declare that paper twine is perfectly harmless—that if any pieces of the Ptrina are left in the wool thetf disintegrate in the scouring process, and are washed away. The strange thing is that the great manufacturers of the world have never before taken up this jute fibre matter. The day will soon come when wool-growers will be forced to use paper twine, for the buyers will discount the fleeces tied by the old heavy jute rope that is so unsightly and unhandy to use, and works its way into thousands of fibres. —American Sheep Breeder.
