CHARGES OF THEFT.
GREYMOUTH, May 1. The further hearing of 43 charges of the theft of machinery, took, etc., from various persone, preferred against Alfred and Oliver Robertson and Edward Wafr< son, is proceeding. The accused hav* pleaded guilty in most instances, having made statements to Inspector Norwood admitting the offences, thus enabling the police to recover many stolen article*. The estimated total value of the good* stolen is over £2OO. GREYMOUTH, May 2. The wholesale theit cases were concluded this morning. The three accused were committed to the Christchurch Supreme Court for sentence on May 13 on the indictable charges. Bail was refused. In the summary charges the magistrate sentenced Alfred Robinson to two month* and Oliver Robinson and Edward Wateon to one month, concurrent.
