BERWICK.
April 22.—-An evening party given by Mr and Airs B. Parsons at their residence, Henley, last Friday proved to be one of the most pleasant and sociable parties that has been held at Henley for a very long time. Everybody from the start appeared to try and make the evening an enjoyable one. and in that respect certainly were successful. A lengthy and diversified programme was gone through, comprising songs, recitations, instrumental selections, and stop-dances, those taking part being Airs Dee, Alisses Dee and Kate Johnstone, Messrs A. APDiarmid, T. Dee, P. Dee, Thos. Harris, B. Parsons, and James Henry. Refreshments were handed round, and after ample justice had been done to those Mr Thomas Harris, in a crisp little speech, most warmly thanked, on behalf of himself and the guests, Mr and Mrs B. Parsons for the very pleasant evening they had spent. After the singing of “He’s a lolly good fellow” a/nd “Auld lang syne,” led by Air A. APDiarmid, the visitors took their departure for their several homes, highly delighted with their evening’s outing.
