MINISTERING CHILDREN’S LEAGUE.

A meeting- of the associates of the Ministering Children's League was held in the Girls’ High School, and was attended by Mesdames But tea-worth (in the chair), Lindo Ferguson, Callaway, Keith Ramsay, C. G. White, and Misses Allan, B. Miller, Ramsay, and Williams. The Secretary read tne annual report, which was as follows:—During the year six children have been sent to the convalescent home at Palmerston, and four have had relief given to them while their mothers were in the Hospital. Donations of £5 each were sent at Christmas to the Church of England and the Presbyterian Orphanages, to be used as a holiday fund for the children. Last April £1 was forwarded to Pearson’s Freeh Air Fond, and this month £5 was contributed towards tlie fund for the relief of the women and children suffering from the effects of the recent strike in England. Wo regret to have to report the resignation from the committee of Miss Nis bet, who acted for two yeans as secretary of the league, and of Miss Merchant, -who has severed her connection with the Girls’ High School and 1 departed for England. Miss Merchant has been a most enthusiastic member of committee since the revival of the league 12 years ago, and we fear that hear absence will be very much felt. The thanks ■of the committee are due to Mr Gumming for the kindly interest that he takes in the league, and to Mias Williams, who, durimr the secretary’s absence from Dunedin last winter, again combined the offices of secretary and treasurer. The membership of the league is made up of 46 associates and the pupils of the GUIs High School and Braemar House. The financial position is satisfactory, the credit balance being £5 19a 5d greater than it was last year. A successful entertainment was held by the combined branches last May in the Girls’ High School. The net proceeds amounted to £l3 17s ?>d, the expenses being £6 Os 7d, making a total of £l9 18s. After the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the following committee was elected for the ensuing year: —President, Sira Butter worth; vice-presidents, Mcadamos Lindo Ferguson, Nisbet, Keith Ramsay, J. M. Ritchie, Sargood, Theomin, and Henry Williams; executive —Misses Allan, B. Miller, Midler, and B. MT«ean { Geneial Committee —Mesd'arnes Fulton. Denniston.
