QUESTION OF WAGES. A BISHOP'S VIEWS. LONDON, April 11. The Bishop of Oxford states that wages will no longer settle themselves by the law of supply and demand. He says the proper basis for the reconstruction of society is the principle that adequate payment for labour should be the first charge upon industry. A permanent standard wage would doubtless entail a standard of efficiency in the worker.
