PAYMENT OF TEACHERS.
AUCKLAND, April 12. The Auckland Branch of the Educational Institute canned a resolution that the present system of staffing and paying teachers on the average attendance is very unsatisfactory, and that the mean average obtained by taking the average between the average roll number and the average attendance is a much more satisfactory basis. The branch also passed a resolution expressing the opinion that the allowance of £l2 a year to widows is inadequate, and suggested an increased contribution if necessary.
