DEATH OF MISS EMILY SOLDENE.

LONDON, April 9. The death of Emily Soldene, vocalist, actress, and journalist is announced. The deceased lady, who was born at Islington in 1844 appeared first as a vocalist a* the Oxford and other halls, appearing as Chilperio at the Lyceum in 1870. She was engaged by Charles Morton Head for the famous production of " Genevieve de Brabant" at the Philharmonic, Islington, in 1871, and '' La Fill© d» Madam Angot on th« occasion of its fiESt production in England at the Gaiety Theatre in 1873. She toured in America and Australia with her light opera company with enormous success. She was the authoress of " Young Mr Staples." a novel, and " Mv Theatrical and MusicHl Recollections." A complimentary benefit at the Palace Theatre in 1906 realised over £BOO for her. For some years she represented the Sydney Evening News in London.
