Two children, a boy and a girl, ivoro proceeding homo from tho West Christchurch School on Friday morning when they saw something v.-hito in a cr<-ck. Curiosity impelled them to fish it out and tho reward for their pains was a violent explosion and they were burnt severely on the neck and clothes. What the explosive was is not definitely known, but it w&s probably a lump of phosphorus.
