AEROPLANES IN WARFARE
FLYING CORPS TO BE ESTABLISHED. LONDON, April 13. The War Office, in a memorandum, states that the Tripolitan war has proved the value of aeroplanes in actual warfare. The Government is impressed with the condition of aviation in Britain as compared with its progress in other nations, and proposes to establish a Royal Flying Oorps as an addition to the Aviation School on Salisbury Plain. It is hoped that a considerable proportion of civilian aviators will join the reserve to serve in any part of the world. There are 364 flyers wanted for the army, and 40 for the navy. Only 60 are training at present. It is proposed that an Air Committee shall be created as an adjunct to the Committee on Imperial Defence. GERMANY'S PROPOSALS. ZEPPELIN AIRSHIPS ORDERED. BERLIN, April 13. The Admiralty is negotiating with the Zeppelin Company to deliver four or five of the most powerful Zeppelin airships within three years for navy purposes.
