NEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the New Zealand Trotting 1 Association was held on Thursday afternoon (says the Christchurch Press). The Forbury Park Trotting Club wrote forward;.ig the evidence taken in connection with the objection by W. Jones, driver of Sparkling Kola, against J. C.. Paget, driver of Prince Warbeck, alleging inter-' ference during the running of the Dune-din Cup. Having had the evidence of Jones and the sworn denial of Paget, the stewards woe of opinion that there was not. sufficient ground for taking any further action. Mr Howell moved that the action of the Forbury Park stewards should be endorsed. This was seconded by Mr Denton, who put a question to Mr Gore on the subject. Air Gore replied that he had been present at the meeting, and seen the race, and the stewards had had tlio report of the patrol stewards, and could not go against that.—Mr Nicoll said that if a club carried out its meeting in acoi'dance with the rules, and saw no cause for taking action, the association had 10 power to interfere. —The uiotion was carried. The Special Committee (Messrs Selijr, Howell, and Garrard) appointed to deal with Freeman Holmes's ease reported that h had held an inquiry. Having heard Holmes's statement, and given him an opportunity of bringing any further evidence lie wished, the committee failed to discover any ground/, to warrant a re-hearing of tho case, which iiad resulted in his license bein;.- suspended for three months OS from February 19- With respect to Holmes's charge that Mr R. 0. Duncan, a member oi tho Board and its Licensing Committee, was prejudiced against Holmes, the committee had considered tho grounds brought forward by Holmes, and the evidence of Mr Duncan, N Price, and Mr? Duncan. The committer was of opinion that Holmes ai> peared to have an honest belief with respect to the attitude of Mr Duncan, but thoitiih Price failed to substantiate some
