Lieutenant Shirase, leader of the Japanese exploration party, and six members of his staff, left Wellington by Ih© Aorangi for Sydney, en route to Japan, on Saturday evening. The exploring ship Kainan Maru . no alongside the King's wharf on Saturfor a couple of hours to take in -.',.•- and water. She left for Japan aaeOt on Monday.
