The steamer Victoria, which left Auckland for Sydney on Monday, evening, took 230 passengers. The whole of the vessel's accommodation was taken up. and bite comers had to be content with shakedowns. Already 20 deer-shootma licenses have been taken out for the Waitaki Acclimatisation Society's forest. This is the largest number that has yet been taken out for tho country controlled by this society.
