Tuesday, October 10 (Before Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M.) Judgment was given for plaintiffs in the following undefended cases : —Taratu Coal Co., in liquidation, v. RobertDasler (Tokaratu), £4 6s lid, for coal; Mills. -Dick, and Co. v. James Park. (Strachan's Siding), £6 6s, for work v and goods; Taratu Coal Co. (in liquidation) v. John M'Mustrie (Windsor), 10s 6d, for coal; Alexander M'Lean v. Angus M'Neill, £5, amount of an order from the Drainage Board: Ahlfield Bros, v. James Ferguson (Waipawa), £7 16s 2d. for goods D.T.C. v. Henry Perry, claim £1 Os 9d, on a judgment summons.—Mr Mpore appeared for plaintiff, rnd defendant was ordered to pay 15s 9d, with costs, forthwith : in default 48 hours' imprisonment.

Laidlaw and Gray v. William James Roberts, claim £5 17s 4d, on a judgment summons.—The order was varied, and plaintiff was directed to pay by fortnightly instalments of 10s each. Mr Moore appeared for plaintiff. New Zealand Express Company v. William James Roberts, claim £2 18s Id, on a judgment summons. —Mr Tonkinson appeared for plaintiff, and the court. varied the order by calling upon defendant to pay the debt by fortnightly instalments of t 0.3 each.

. Thuesday, Octobeb 12. (Before Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M.) Preston, Brooke, and Co., Leeds (Mr Adams) v.- A. F. Donoghue (Christchurch). —Claim £27 14s Bd, for goods.—Judgment by default for £26 18s lid, with costs (£2 14s). ->■' /-; George Morgan (Mr Aclams) v. James Hill.—Claim £6 12s, on a judgment-sum-mons.'—An order was made for the payment forthwith of £4 14s, with costs (8s); in default, sevon days' imprisonment. J. Orombie and Go. (Mir Moore) v. James Barnes (Burnside). —Claim £4 lis, on a judgment summons.—An order was made for the payment of £4 14s, and costs (8s), forthwith; in default, seven days' imprisonment. In the case of Ernest Price (Mr W. Downio Stewart) v. Henry Fcote, claim £2 4s 2d, on a judgment summons, the Magistrate declined to make an order.

Leonaaxl Woodyatt (Milton), claim £2 Bs, for groceries, with costs (10s); Johnston, Sons, and Co. (Mr Scantlebury) v. Charles F. Morris (Auckland), claim £1 14s 6d, for book supplied, with costs (ss). Inspector of Awards v. Georee T. Race. — Claim for breach of the hotel employees' award, by . engaging Sarah Butler without first applying to the secretary of the union. Defendant, who explained that he engaged the girl after being- for a long time unable to obtain the services of another, was fined 10s. Edward Crosland (Mr J.. S. Sinclair) v. Frederick Morgan.—Claim £4 0s 3d, on a judgment summons. —The defendant was examined as to his position; after which tlia magistrate declined to make an order.
