THE NE TEMERE DECREE
SYDNEY, A pastoral letter, issued by the Archbishop and bishops in protest against the ne temere decree, after traversing the various grounds of their dissent therefrom, declares: "We cannot, without protest and warning, allow the promulgation of a decree which practically reverses the old and intelligible canon law, and applies to all Christians, other than those of the Roman obedience, similar treatment to that formerly meted out to pagans."
