HOME ROLE FUNDS.

NEW ZEALAND'S CONTRIBUTION. WELLINGTON, October 10. Mr Martin Kennedy, who did so much to make the tour of New Zealand by the Irish delegates a splendid success, has just received an official receipt for the second instalment of the New Zealand contribution, signed by Bishop O'Donnell, Mr J. E. Red!mond, and Mr John Fitzgibbon, trustees of the Home Rule fund. With it came the following- letter from Mr John Redmond: —"Dear Mr Kennedv.—l bag to acknowledge receipt of your letter of July 23, enclosing a credit note for £4500. This, with £4OOO already received from you by the envoys, makes a total of £BSOO received by us so far as the result of the New Zealand mission. I need not say that we and the whole of Nationalist Ireland are deeply grateful for this most magnificent and generous support. We are now entering the last lap, and nothing short of some quite unforeseen political earthquake can prevent the early triumph of Home Rule. When that date comes we all will gladly and properly acknowledge how much Ireand owes to Irishmen in New Zealand, and foremost among them to you. United by my colleagues in warmest thanks to you, —I remain very truly yours (signed), J. E. Redmond, August 29, 1911." Tho last instalment was cabled Home quite recently, making the total contribution of the Dominion to the fund nearly £9BBO. The total amount Collected in, New Zealand was nearly £II,OOO.
