POLITICAL REFORM LEAGUF.

GLOWING REPORTS FROM AUCKLANDERS. FARMERS AND SETTLERS WITH , MR MASSEY. ' AUCKLAND, October 7. At a. meeting of the executive of the Auckland section of the Political Reform League last evening encouraging reports were received from a number of the suburban and country constituencies, special mention being made of the fact that the platform of the Reform party was meeting with enthusiastic support throughout the province from the North Cape to the Mokau, it being felt by the country that the Opposition had presented the only real policy now before the electors, and that the party's advocacy of opening up the Crown and Native lands for settlement on the optional tenure, with limitation of area, was in the true interests of thtj Dominion. Indignation wasexpressed at the. attempts made in the House ,by the member for Lyttelton and others to represent the Opposition as being against limitation of area, whereas a plank of the party's platform provides for the oecupation-wiith-right-of-purchase tenure with limitation of area. It i was stated in various reports that a great revulsion of feeling against the present Government was being evidenced throughout Auckland province. Committees were beiing formed in every electorate, and were working hard, the utmost enthusiasm prevailing everywhere, and in districts throughout th© area represented by the executive it was confidently anticipated that a striking victory would be obtained for the Opposition. A report from one of the most important country constituencies contained the following passage:—"The farmers and settlers throughout this district are with Mr Massey to a man, and the Labour vote will go to the Opposition. The country feels that the destinies of the Domjinion will be in safe hands with Mr Massey in power."
