THE MOHAMMEDAN MENACE
SYDNEY, September 26. Dx Kumon, the African explorer, lecturing at the University, sounded a note of warning against what he termed the Mohammedan menace in Africa, and said that it threatened to swamp it. Tribe after tribe was going over to Islam. Possibly the last great" war between the Crescent and the Cross would be fought in Central Africa. It would be an awful encounter, and the only remedy that he could see was a Christianising by a chain of missions from the Niger to the Nile.
