j In addition to purchases formerly re- ! ported for Mr J. R„ Mackenzi 3 Romney ! Downs, Dunedin, he recently shipped (sayq the Scottish Farmer) six rillks, two of which were two years old, one was a yean ling, two were three-year-olds, and one I four-3'car-old. Tho last was bred by Mi John Smith, Meikle Knox, Kircudbright, and was got by the Berwick premium horsf Blacon Sensation (12487), a horse of ex< ooptionally good breeding, and the dam of this mare was by the noted premium hoxs« Fickle Fashion (10546), while her (rdam was by the Lockerbie premium horse Royal Standard (9847). Of the two three-year-olds one came from Mr Marshall, IStranraer, and was got by the Cawdor Oup champion Memento (13100), while the other was bred in the Lockerbie district, and was got by the H. and A. S. champion horse Silver Crest (12358). Ons of the two year-olds was bred by ]£>• Walter Riggar, Chapelton, and was --ot by that successful breeding horse Baron Ruby (11268), out of a mare by the noted prize horse Prince Shapely (10111), winner of first prizes at the Royal and the H. and A. S,. when a 'three-year-old. and many district premiums. The other two'-vear-old was bred in •Cumberland, and was got by the big, ; goocl-brccdir.ig ' horss Lad Graham (11404), out of a mare by Mr Kerr's Royal Champion (£856), which bred many superioi animals. The yearling was by the well«known breeding horse Dunure James (13452), and her dam was. by Sherrie Lothian (10284), a horse which carries, hint of his pedigree, in his name. Two "of the best breeding l horses ever known in Cumberland were Lord Lothian (5998) and Cartsherrie (2300), and the blocd of these is com bined in the pedigree of Sherrie Lothian,
