RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.
LONDON, August 13,
Tire brakes of a passenger train at Glasgow failed to work, .and the train crashed into the dead end at Queen Street Station, jumped on to the platform, and broke through the wall of a refreshment room, injuring five people. The Lord Provost of Glasgow had a narrow escape. SYDNEY, August 14. A train left the rails at Riverstone, the passengers being badly shaken, though none were injured. The line was repaired, but later the engine of a second train that was going slow jumped the track at the same place. It is supposed that the line is warped.
