minimum 10s per year. The Pahiatua Branch adopted this basis of subscription some time- ago, and it has worked satisfactorily. At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Tokomairiro Farmers' Club it was -decided to go on with the honours' board, the cost to bo about £7. It was decided to hold a social, last year's event having been a success in every respect, and leaving a credit balance of £ll. Friday, Juno 16, was fixed ns the date of the social.
A Ngapara correspondent says that owing to the recent rains and- warm days following - there is every prospect of a good winter. There is a good show of grass everywhere, which ought to provide plenty of winter fodder for sheep and cattle. The light frosts together with the light rains have completely killed the potato worms, and potato-growers are very jubilant over the prospects for the present crops, some growers anticipating as much as 10 tons an acre. Taking everything into consideration, the farmers have nothing to com* plain about, considering the very dry summer we have had.
