EMMELINE'S COSY CORNER CLUB.

THE 1911 SESSION WILE OPEN ON JUNE 14 WITH A MEMBERS' MEETING. On these occasions members will remember that the choice of .a topic is entirely free. It anay be grave or gay; proas ox poetry; quoted or original, the latter being, of course, preferable. Still, sooner than not put in an appearance at the first meeting of the session, Ernmeline hopes her comrades will be represented by some recent and. interesting quotation on the topic they choose. Everx member is ALSO REQUESTED AT THIS MEETING TO SEND IN A SUGGESTION FOR A TOPIC. A selection will be made from these suggestions, and a date left open for their discussion during the session. The suggestions must, of course, be of topics of general interest. CLUB PROGRAMME FOR 1911. First Meeting.. ■ " - —A Members' Meeting.— Papers—not exoeeding four hundred words —to be in by May 31. Please be particular as to dates. Second meeting, July 12. —Papers must be in by June 28. —Historical.— The principal events of the reign of Henry VIII and their influence on history. Or a pen portrait of a notable. personage—mian or woman—in this reign, giving interestingaspects of their public and private life and influence. (Don't all choose Cardinal Wolsay!)

Third meeting, August 9. —Papers must be in by July 26. This meeting will be known as "The Suggestion Meeting," and will be devoted to the selection made from the suggestions sent in by members at the first meeting, and announced at the second meeting. Fourth meeting, September 6. —Papers must be in by August 23. —Devoted to the Book-lover.—■' The book you have most enjoyed reading during the past year, and why. Brieflv indicate plot .and characters. Each member is also asked to Jiame three books—novels, travels, essays, or poems—which they can heartily recommend to all tho other members. Give author and publisher if possible. Fifth meeting, October 4.—Papers must be in by September 20. —Travellers' Meeting.— The club will travel in order that all tastes may be met, and the people who enjoy hot climates may do so without interfering with -the cold weather enthusiasts. We will divide ourselves into two parties. I will 03k Rangiora to captain one party of tourists and Country Mouse the other, and the chosen countries shall be Russia and South America, both teeming with interest. Sixth meeting, November 1. —Papers must be in by October 18. —Members' Meeting.— Members make an entirely free choice cf topics. Should any alteration of topics seem advisable, ample notice will be given of such alteration. Gladdened by the splendid success of last session. Emmeline earnestly asks all her beloved comrades to' acquit themselves as well this year.
