SUPPLEMENTARY FIGURES. WELLINGTON, May 11. 1 The details of the Dominion's finances for the year ended March 31, 1911, appear in to-night's Gazette. The principal items were made public by the Hon. J. A. Millar at Dunedin last Tuesday, but these may be supplemented a little. The Naval Defence Act account shows that £1,120,250 has been received of the loan of £1,250,000 authorised. The expenditure has totalled £489,289, and the ! 10-m charges were £431, leaving a balance | of £630,5^9. j The Native lands settlement account ! shows that £181,600 was received from 1 the State-guaranteed Advances Office. 1 The amount expended under the act was £135,334. After providing for sinking 1 fund there is a balance of £44,322. i In the land for settlements account the ' principal receipts were : —Balance at bei ginning of the year, £202,385; rents, etc., ! from estates, £27l,l99;—making, with smaller items, a total of £663,640. The amount spent during the year in the purchase of estates was £158,796. The expenses connected with these and other estates previously purchased amounted to £16,720. The interest paid to the Con- ) jsolidated' Fund in respect of debentures ■ issued absorbed £224,037, and of sinking fund £59,079. The balance at the end l of the. year was £53,397. The principal estates purchased and the amounts paid I were :—Allanholm, £24,150; Aviemore, £950; Clandeboye, £14,476; Clandeboye No. 2, £8192; Drayton, £21,296; Hornby, £3695; Kohika No. 2, £6397; Meadows, £13,651; Ruapuna No. 2, £39,822;.5t0ke, j £18,137; Waitakaruru No. 5, £6522.
