The tourist season on the Wanganui River has started earlier than usual, and the river at present is seen at its best. From now until January the native flowering trees wiil be in bloom, the wealth of yellow kowhai appearing unueually brilliant and profuee. The native clematia is also in bloom, as well as the Rangiora, Ake-akc, and Rairiarama, whilst the giant -ata gives signs of early bloom.
