ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
ROTOEUA, October 28. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, John A. Taylor, of Te Puke, was chaTged with attempting to commit suicide by shooting himself on the 25th inst. The bullet entered his forehead above the eye, and injured that member. Accused had financial worries, and feared he was going to lose land. He began drinking, and committed the act while under the influence of drink, but he realised fully that he was taking his own life. The Magistrate convicted accused, and ordered him, to come up for sentence when called upon, and to pay the costs of the prosecution, amounting to £lO 11b. The Magistrate also ordered that a prohibition order be taken out against Taylor.
