ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the brigade; was held on Thursday evening in the brigade rooms, Lower High street. The superintendent (Mr John Wood) presided. A number of accident cases were reported by members. Officers and men were appointed to the various football grounds, Forbury Parle trotting meeting, and to the Skating Rink. The Secretary (Mr Breen) called attention to the need for a telephone list of members available to assist in the removal and transport of invalids and accident cases. In referring to the ambulance van, the Superintendent pointed out that patients were, expected to pay the cost of the driver and horse, but if unable to do so the brigade defrayed l the extra expense. At the request of the Officer Commanding Boy Scouts the brigade appointed instructors to instruct the Boy Scouts a.t Anderson's Bay, St. Clair, South Dunedin, Walker street, Moray place, Y.M.C.A. Rooms, Rosiyn, Albany street. North Dunedin, Ravensbourne, and Port Chalmers. The brigade afterwards spent an hour In practical transport work.
