KAURI GUM INDUSTRY.
MINISTERIAL EXAMINATION
AUCKLAND. April 22. The Hon. F. Mackenzie, Minister o! Agriculture and Commerce, arrived in Auckland this morning by the Main Trunk express, and thence proceeded northwards to Heiensville. The Minister last session promised Mr Stallworthy, M.P., that he he wesa>l visit the gum' fields of the north during the recess and make personal investigations into the working or? the industry Mr Mackenzie will accordingly spend several days in travelling over the northern part of the province, familiarising himself with theLite and conditions of the workers and inquiring into the possibilities for the further development of the kauri gum industry
