MAYORAL NOMINATIONS.

DUNEDIN. The nominations for the Mayoralty of the City of Dunedin were announced at the Town Hall ait noon on the 20th by the town clerk (Mr R. W. Richards). Very little interest was taken in the matter, there being only about 20 people in attendance. The candidates nominated were : Thomas Cole, proposed by George Cashmore Israel and Alexander Ragley. Harold Livingstone Tapley, proposed by William Eric Reynolds and William Cuttle. The poll will take place next Wednesday. Both candidates briefly addressed the gathering.

PORT CHALMERS. The candidates nominated for the Port Chalmers Mayoralty are;— David Alexander de Mans, proposed by John D. Warden, and James Pickard. David Millar Miawson, proposed by Alexander Cable and Joseph Powell. Frederick William Platts, proposed by Alexander MTntyre and Walter M‘Ewen. WEST HARBOUR. Mr Hagbarth Ernest Moller, who was nominated by Mr Grant P. Farquhar and William T. Barker, was declared duly elected. The present will be Mr Moller’s fifth year of office as Mayor. NORTH-EAST VALLEY. The following nominations were received for the Borough of North-East Valley;— John Campbell, proposed by William Begg and W. J. Ansell; Jonathan Rhodes, proposed by Alexander Bogg and George M. Pizey. ST. KILDA. The nominations as received by Mr J. B. Dick were: Donald Charles Cameron, jun., nominated by W. T. M‘FarLane and J. J. Marlow. Gabriel Hodges, nominated by W. J. Gere and J. Farrell. MORNINGTON. Alfred Henry Bridger, the present Mayor, was unopposed, and was declared duly elected. Mr Bridger was nominated by Messrs James Quaile and F. Smith. ROSLYN. The following candidates were nominated for the Mayoralty of Rcslyn : John Henry Francis Hamel, proposed by Walter Wright and Duncan M‘Millan. Alfred Washer, proposed by Robt. Glendining and A. W. Webster. - . MAORI HILL. Alfred John Butterfield, nominated by W. Ure and P. L. Clarke, was unopposed, and was declared duly elected. GREEN ISLAND

Mr Walter Geddes was re-elected without opposition.

NOMINATIONS ELSEWHERE. AUCKLAND, April 20. Messrs P. J. Nerheny and L. J. Bagnall have been nominated for the office of Mayor of Auckland. The following Mayors have been returned unopposed: —E. Davis (Newmarket), W. Handley (Devonport), W. J. Holdsworth (Grey Lynn), H. Cadness (Northcote), Messrs R. S. Briggs and Frank Fitt have been nominated for the mayoralty of Parnell, and Messrs Alexander Keyes, E. G. Skeates, and H. P Taylor for the mayoralty of Birkenhead. . FEILDING, April 20. Messrs E. Goodbehere, G. W. Harford, and J. M. R. Lochhead were nominated. WANGANUI, April 20. Mr C. E. Mackay was returned unopposed for the Mayoralty of Wanganui, and Mr .John Jones was returned unonposed for i Wanganui East. PALMERSTON N., April 20. Mr J. A. Nash was renamed unopposed as Mayor for Palmerston for the third successive year. ~ _, ELTHAM, Ap'ril 20. Mr Edwin Parrot was re-elected unopposed. WELLINGTON, April 20. Mr T. M. Wilford and Mr C. J. Mr John Edgar, sen., was re-elected j Mayor of Queenstown to-day, and Mr Thos. Connor was elected Mayor of Arrowtown unopnosed. ALEXANDRA S.. April 22. For the .Alexandra mayoralty, nominaiions for which closed yesterday, there are two candidates in the field—viz.. Mr Ed. Marslin and Mr J. L. Gregg. M'Neil, who was declared elected. A Press Association telegram states that for the Auckland city mayoralty Mr W. Richardson has bee;-; nominated in addition to Messrs Bagnall and Nerheriy. Mr B. R. Gardner was elected unopposed for the mayoralty of Levin. There were no nominations for the mayoralty of Campbelltown (Bluff). Messrs W. Russell and N. Stewart have been nominated for the mayoralty of Waikouaiti. A deputation of leading citizens of Milton (including the whole of the councillors) waited on Mr J. A. Duthie and asked him to consent to be nominated as Mayor of Milton. Mr Duthie consented, and at the nomination on the 21st inst. he was the only candidate, and was duly elected. This makes Mr Duthie's third term in succession as Mayor. Mr J. 6. Harkness has been re-elected Mayor of Onslow (Wellington).
