THE WOOL SALES.

LONDON, April 19. For the forthcoming wool sales 431,500 bales have been received, whereof 270,000 bales have been forwarded direct to the manufacturers, leaving 170,000 available for sale. April 20. At the Antwerp wool sales there was a large attendance, and bidding was animated. There was an advance of five centimes all round. Three thousand two hundred and seventy-eight bales of La Plata wool were offered, and 1214 were sold. A{Jril 21. The Antwerp sales have closed. Prices for merinoes and fine crossbreds were unchanged ; ordinary . crossbreds were neglected. Six thousand seven hundred and eighty-four bales of La Plata were offered, and 1747 sold. Messrs Dalgety and Co, report having received the following cablegram from their head office dated London, April 18 ; The list of arrivals is closed and all your wools have arrived in- time. The new arrivals amount to 431,000 bales, of which 270,000 bales have been forwarded to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving 170,000 bales available for sale, including 9000 carried forward from last series.
