A Feilding telegram states that out of 28 applicants, Mr A. J. Geary, chief clerk of the tramway department of Wellington City Corporation, has been appointed town clerk of the borough of Feilding. Although Ireland returns 103 members to Westminster, only 38 seats were contested in that country in the recent general election.
