. MELBOURNE, March 15. The Railway Commissioners, hv using Powlett River coal, will save £30.000 oer annum, while £35,000 in coal frfyehts will be earned this year. It is estimated that the railways will earn £75,000 by this means next year. March 16. The High Court refused the appeal by the proprietors of the Age for a new trial in the Swinburne v. Age libel case, in which the plaintiff was awarded £3250 as damages.
