STATE-GUARANTEED ADVANCES.
NAPIER, March 20. . The Mayor has received the following telegram from the Prime Minister witS regard to the Napier Borough Council's application under the. State Guaranteed Ad-! vances Act :—" The board has provision-! ally approved of £35.000. for drainage. The other amplications from Napier cannot; be entertained at present. With tha numerous applications for roads, bridges, drainage, and water from various parts of the country it is not possible to entertain electric tramwavs" and such classes of loans iust now.—J. G. Ward." The Hastings "Borough Council has been advised bv the Government that its loan 1 for sewerap-e and n'ater svraoly has been "ranted subject to the usual conditions.
