DAIRY FACTORY EMPLOYEES.
NEW -AWARD PROPOSED. PALMERSTON N., March 3. The conference of dairy factory proprietors in the Wellington district was held to-day, 30 factories being represented. Mr M'Farlane, president of the Dairy Association presided. The meeting was called to consider the demands of the factory employees for anew award to succeed the present one, which runs out on March 31. The enir ployees have fornulated demands, which have been published, but which have not been broaght :, officially before the employers or the court. After" Considering the position, it was decided to set up a committee of seven with power to act, to meet whatever situation may arise.
The present award, which was only for nine months, will ' continue in force till another is substituted.
